"Essence", a new series begins.
It's kind of an odd thing, having a concept in your mind but leaving it there, unrealized just until you're ready for it to see the light of day.
That's the way it's been with "Essence", my newest series of transmorphic images. And I mean 'transmorphic' in two regards; the images are figurative in nature but the figures are, in this case, extruding from a smoke-like image but also 'transmorphic' in that the concept behind them is a transformation of the concept behind the previous series, "Liquescence" in which the figures evolved out of ink swirling in water.
This new series has just begun and there are many more pieces to come but the two previous series will continue to grow as well. I think of it as a little sister to "Liquescence" and little cousin to the first series "The Illusions of Psyche". They are all related but, like children, all have their own personality.
